When friends are in Turkey to visit, one of the staple Fethiye days out is the boat trip. Whether it's the Sunday boat trip to Göcek, a tour around the 12 Islands or a private Blue Bays boat trip, they're all a perfect (and economical) way to spend a few hours on the Mediterranean. Many regulars to Fethiye have their favourite boats that they use every time while others, like us, tend to tag along with whoever our friends want to book with.  A Day Out On Ekinim Boat And that's how, last Sunday, we ended up spending the day on Ekinim Boat, one of the Calış Boat Cooperative members. So let us continue from where we left off yesterday. Yesterday, we told you about our experience of staying overnight at the Olive Garden in Kabak. It was photos of scenery, swimming pool and bungalow - but we decided to save the food bit for this post. It certainly deserves its own post. When you stay overnight at the Olive Garden, the price is for a set evening meal, your bungalow and then your breakfast the morning after. As it was a set menu, we weren't expecting too much - but, as always where food is concerned, we were looking forward to it and were curious to see what we would get. How many times have we sang the praises of Foursquare on this blog? Too many, probably - but we're going to do it again. Foursquare can only work well if people actively use it and, fortunately for the traveller, Turkey is blessed with a population of people who love to 'check in' using Foursqaure and various other social media outlets. We already knew there were bars and cafes around the Porsuk River and, as our hotel was very close to that area, we stumbled across Traveler's Cafe and its oversized beers almost immediately...but Eskişehir is packed with thousands of students. We are truly blessed to have the friends we have got. Last July, we wanted to take two of our friends who come to Fethiye every year somewhere different that they hadn't seen before.
