The First Visit To Punta Del Este

Sometimes it can be fantastic to travel without knowing what to anticipate. It happened to me a few months ago when I went along to Punta del Este, Uruguay, during the request from the Conrad Hotel, for the article in the publication where I worked. The luxury resort of Uruguay hadn’t referred to as attention, and to be honest, I had never checked out a single thing about it.

I visited Punta del Este middle of work and ready for anything may possibly happen. I came across that the city overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Rio da Prata is located in the department of Maldonado. For a short time now, the site has turn into a destination for luxury and retreat some millionaires, which cluster mainly in districts of San Rafael and Beverly Hills. A number of the “cottages” nothing modest belongs to well-known peoples for example the millionaire Alexandre Grendene, Shakira, Julio Iglesias and David Beckham. The site, in fact is the Saint Tropez of Latin America, as they say right there.

Punta del Este can be quite well looked after and is also not difficult to see the way of life from the local people. During the night, the weather is excitement, especially in the area of La Barra and La Mansa. The festivities in the clubs start late at night and there are many options to dance until the sun rises – after which still take a stretch towards the beach, you will never know. This is for anyone who has breath! In the Porto region is where you will find restaurants and bars to spend the night time in a “quieter”.

But, truth be told, the beaches are not designed to my foot because the water is very cold. The scenery is also not enough to end up being beautiful. And thus, I was wondering often what it really was that attracted many richer there. The only explanation that comes to mind is the establishment and the quietness of the place. And when I say quiet, I mean both the press photographers and in connection with the low rate of violence. I understand people who became enchanted with the city. It wasn’t exactly my problem, however emphasizes that yes well worth the visit. You will find good hotels and good food. The tip is to go amongst the months of September and April, when the rainfall rate is cheaper. But remember: it is high season, so things are more costly.

To first-time tourists just like me, have a picture in front of the famous sculpture La Mano and find out Casapueblo are indispensable tour. The enormous hand that arises from the sand at Praia Brava was built by Chilean artist Mario Irarrazabal and have become a postcard of Punta. Now Casapueblo has serving dwelling house and atelier of the Uruguayan artist Carlos Paéz Vilaró. It is really fluffy one that was lucky enough to find when I was there. From time to time it appears to autograph their work. The house, huge, is available to tourists and still hosts an accommodation and a restaurant. The best time to see is at nightfall when the poem “Ceremony Del Sol” Vilaró echoes of the speakers spread out throughout the house as the sun says goodbye.

A trip to the Conrad Hotel at night is also worth it. One of the city’s most luxurious, the establishment houses two great restaurants, a theater – Where we watched a performance of tango – and the famous casino, which although small, ensures the fun of many tourists.

Anyone with enough time is great to visit Jose Ignacio, 45 km away. The previous fishing village turned into a luxury destination, but with empty beaches. I sat in La Huella, a Parador (as they call the beach kiosks) with old-fashioned, all wood. Super picturesque, and also full of rich people right there. Do not be surprised if you come across someone famous. On the other hand, surprisingly, the prices are not ridiculous, but make it happen early for the reason that place is usually always loaded. Take a moment for cooling served by a pitcher of Clerico, a kind of Sangria containing white wine and served well chilled with fruit pieces. And do not forget to stop at a super market to buy the famous milk sweet La Pataia simply the best I have ever tasted. Anyone interested, can meet the factory in La Pataia Farm.
