Atacama Desert, Santiago of Chile

As well as Chile, the Atacama Desert is a place of many contrasts. Temperatures ranging from zero to 40 degrees, oasis mixed with moonscape and peoples of the world. The desert presents the early risers, with spectacular images of the sunrise. But night owls are also spoiled for choice with curdled skies of heavenly bodies and falling stars, ready to meet a request from a traveler. In my case, the application was able to return one day to this charming and magical setting.

The Atacama desert is located in northern Chile, and enters through Peru, Bolivia and Argentina. Covers about 105000 square kilometers, and stretches over 1000 kilometers of coastline in the Pacific. On its territory there are salt lakes, stretches of sand and lava flows solidified. The altitude at which it is causes convective clouds fail to achieve the falling rain in the ocean. From the side of the Amazon basin are held by the barrier formed by the Andes, the world’s most extensive, with more than 7000 kilometers. Also the presence of the cold Humboldt current, that brings Antarctic waters, and the High South Pacific anticyclone contribute to the formation of this desert.

The locality of San Pedro de Atacama is the starting point to discover the desert. Situated at about 2400 meters altitude, San Pedro deAtacama is the main meeting point for all those wishing to explore the region.

For about three days will have the possibility to know the scenery of outstanding natural beauty as the ridge of Salt and valleys of Mars and the Moon, that correspond to geological of origin salt lake million years; The lagoons of Miscanthus, the National Flamingo Reserve, the typical villages of Socaire and Toconao, and the Tatio geysers, situated at the foot of the volcano of the same name.

After a week of traveling back again to Santiago de Chile for head to other places, this time the greenest, how are Viña del Mar with agricultural fields surrounded by Andean Cordillera and the city of Valparaiso overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Hamilton Island is one of the most popular Islands in the Whitsunday largely because of being largest inhabitable island.
