Traces of this the day before yesterday and Ottoman Istanbul 2014

From 1453 to 1923, Istanbul has been the capital of the Ottoman Empire. The city was the residence of the Ottoman royal family and Islamic Caliphate for centuries.

Follow the steps of the Ottomans as you visit historical mosques, bazaars and architecturally unique Topkapı Palace.

The palace which hosted the Sultans' families and the 'Divan' (Imperial Council) for 400 years, sits on the best strategical location. You will be enchanted by the 16th century mosque of Süleyman the Magnificient, famous architect Sinan's best work in Istanbul.

You will continue with Rüstempaşa Mosque which is very rich with her Iznik tiles decorating the whole interior of the mosque.

The tour also gives you a taste of shopping in a historical setting, in the Spice Market, where you can try the famous Turkish delight and all sorts of dried fruits and nuts.
